I wish I could give this place a higher rating. If we didn't have to move on we would have stayed for more than a night. This place is a little patch of paradise, it was unbelievably beautiful. Don is very nice and friendly and is very happy to chat and recommend places to see. Each camping location is approved by a regional council in NZ. An immediate warm welcome from Don. Although he was not there on our arrival he likes to be informed of your arrival date if possible from sunrise so he can welcome you.

But greeted us in the morning with a bag of veg and bag of feijoa. Can talk to Don as if we have known him for years. Happy to help with any recommendations and helped fix some small hiccups with the van. Thank you Don. Awesome experience. View by the river was so relaxing. Don was extremely helpful and gave us lots of advice on places to go.

We ended up going going back for a second night on our way back through. Highly recommend. What a lovely relaxed place and what an inspiring Don, the owner.

We enyoyed it end of January a lot. Nice places next to the river. We took more then one bath and the organic garden was with surprises. In case we make again a trip to NZ we sure will visit Koha and Don again! Excellent campsite!

Love & Sex

We loved the view of the river and hills. Lots of space at each site. Level gravel sites with lots of green grass, and water available. Don was very nice and gave us vegetables and peaches and let us plug in some devices. We planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 3 since it was so nice. Avoid camping penalties using this council approved app. Featuring offline maps.

Where would you like to go?

We had a lovely welcome by Don. His campground is maintained with love and care and is perfectly situated along the river. We ate carrots, beans and unions from his vegetable garden. I think the best compliement is that we came back to thia campground after our stay in Abel Tasman to enjoy the tranquility and a swim in the river. Thank you Don, you made pur trip to NZ! What a fantastic place, a haven of tranquility on the banks of the Motueka river. Don is a lovely and very helpful man, he gave us some great tips for the rest of our trip and they all paid off.

You just have to do this if in the area.

We loved this spot. Hard to leave this beautiful place. Amazing landscaped spot for our camper van. We have rarely found a place like this on our travels. Thanks Don for your time and generosity.
